A world of glitter below my feet

It’s spread across the grass, the browned leaves, and trees

Dirt has become solid rock

The warmth in the glazed over cars is the same as a cardboard box

Staying cooped up in houses has become more appealing

Gone are those days when people felt sweaty and steaming

I’m hopeful for the ice that will follow

Where powder will fall from the sky and wallow.
